Towel Hats USA

Originally started in
Japan, Towel Hats
USA is a volunteer

Visiting Iwate Hospice & Uchino Co.

We visited both companies in
Japan in October and met Mrs.
Yoshijima who created The Towel
hat project and Mr. Kawamorita
who is the director of Iwate hospice
volunteer group. We reported our
Towel Hats USA activities and
showed pictures for the first time
since we started towel hat project
in Michigan. They were very
pleased to know our works.

Koto Music Benefit Concert at Novi Middle School

Christmas Party
Towel Hats USA Christmas Party was held at a
members home on Dec. 9th.
First, we collected 91 towel hats, put makers
names and Christmas ribbons on the hats.
Also, we made pincushions from left-over towel
fabric for the fundraising project we are planning
this year. It was fun to make those and all of us
had a great time. Of course, we had enjoyed
potluck dishes. Somehow, all of us brought
different dishes and we had a hard time to pick
which one to eat. Mrs. Yoko Kirishima (writer) said,
A smart lady makes a delicious dish, and I
agreed to her word when I saw all of dishes. Mrs. Y
did her story teller performance. She will go back
to Japan next month. We moved to Nijikai
(second gathering) at M-sans house.
Thank you, Mrs. I and Mrs. M, for offering places,
and T-san, for creating and teaching how to
make pincushions. Thank you all Towel Hats
members who spent timeless contribution for
making towel hats for many years.
