GERMAN SCHOOL NEW YORK Udo Bochinger, OStD Schuleter ead of School saat DEUTSCHE SCHULE NEW YORK April 25, 2007 To Whom It May Concern: Itis with great pleasure that | write a letter of reference for Joseph De Santo. Mr. De Santo began his employment with our school in September 2005 while completing his Master's Degree at Fordham University. His assignment over the two years included teaching English in the Elementary School as well as in our Middle and High School. | believe this work has deepened Mr. De Santo's understanding of the differences in teaching English and Language Arts to students from ages 7 ~ 19 and the challenge of preparing lessons in a bilingual school. Mr. De Santo has met this challenge. He was open to ideas and suggestions. He was especially interested in planning lessons in conjunction with the curriculum of our 11" grade American Studies class. In all his classes, Mr. De Santo showed a commitment to multiculturalism, exposing students to diverse voices and perspective. As a faculty member, he is involved with the grading of our English exams for our graduates and has shown expertise and support for his colleagues. He has acquainted himself with the German requirements and grading system. Outside of the classroom, Mr. De Santo has shown interest in student activities by helping with or supporting recreational, athletic and artistic events. Mr. De Santo is a friendly teacher who maintains the necessary amount of discipline in the classroom. We wish Joseph De Santo much success in his new position.
