Ministry of Human Resource Development (Government of India), Department of Higher Education has introduced an Internship Scheme, called “MHRD Internship Scheme-2014”, for Indian Nationals pursuing Graduation/ Post Graduation/ Research Studies in a recognised Universities/ Institutions within India or abroad. The scheme is scheduled to commence from 1* October, 2014 and will be available for a period of one year. 2, Details of “MHRD Internship Scheme-2014” are available in Appendix-I and the tentative scheduled of implementation of scheme is available at Appendix-I of this notification, 3. The last date for receiving applications, duly complete in all respects, for Internship for aforesaid three batches will be 31.08.2014 (05.30 pm). 4. The applications received after cut-off date or incomplete in any respect shall be summarily rejected, anid, — Deputy Secretary (Adm.) 4 senior Technical Director, NIC - With request to uploed the nofcation on the website of the Ministry under link “Internship Scheme”. 2 All Notice Boards, MHRD_ F.No.A-44011/15/2014-E.1V Government of India Ministry of Human Resource Development (Department of Higher Education) INTERSHIP SCHEME-2014 Ministry of Human Resource Development (Goverment of India) has decided to introduce an Internship Scheme, called “MHRD Intemnship Scheme noid”, for Indian Nationals pursuing Graduation/ Post Graduation/ Research Studies in a recognised University/Institution within India or abroad. ‘The Scheme will commence from 1* October, 2014 and will be available for a period of one year. 11 The interns would be expected to supplement the process of policy analysis within the Ministry through desirable empirical collection and collation of in-house and other information. 2. Objectives of the Scheme: (@) To allow young students, who are most important among stakeholders, to be associated with the Ministry in formulation of policies, implementation of projects and various initiatives in Education Sector for mutual benefits. (&) The interns may benefit by getting exposure to Government functioning and Policy issues in Human Resource Development in Government of India and contribute to Policy formulation by generating policy inputs such as empirical analysis, briefing reports, policy papers, etc. (© Ministry may benefit from the additional resources in the form of young talent and their new ideas may add to the policy formulation base. Note: It is neither a job nor any assurance for any job in Ministry of HRD or any institution/body under its control 3, Eligibility: Following category of persons are eligible to apply- (@) The applicant should be a citizen of Indi (&) She/he should be pursuing Graduation/Post Graduation/Research in Education, Social Sciences, Science, Humanities, Management, Engineering, ICT, Law from any recognized University/Institution within India or abroad; (o) Students pursuing three/four year programme should have at least completed two years (four semesters) of course and those pursuing five year integrated programme should have completed three years (six semesters). Other salient features of the Scheme - {a) Duration ~ Internship shall be offered initially for two months only and extendable up to six months, if required, in individual cases, No stipend Shall be paid for extended period. There shall be 6 batches of internship f two month each [i.e. October-November (Batch-l), December-January (Batch-Il), February-March (Batch-1), April-May (Batch-IV), JuneJuly (Batch-V) and August-September (Batch-V1). (b) Namber of Interns - A maximum of 06 slots shall be available for offer to internship. (@ Stipend-Token stipend @ Rs:10, 000 (Rupees Ten Thousand Only) Per ‘month shall be paid to an intern after successful completion of internship, (€) Certificate-A. certificate shall be issued to an intern. on successful completion of his/her internship by Administration Division on the basis of recommendation of the concerned Bureau Head, (e) Logistics- Interns shall be provided with a minimum logistic suPpomt office space with intercom telephone, internet and stationery items. They ‘will have to bring their own laptops. ( Attachment - Interns shall be attached in different Bureaus of the Ministry taking into account, as far as possible, the domain/area of interest expressed by them. Contd. 5. 3 However, in certain cases, it may not be possible to attach them as per their choice. In such cases, decision of the Standing Selection Committee shall be final. Bureau Head concerned will allocate the exact topic for study in domain area of interest. (g) Submission of Report - Intern shall be required to submit a brief paper/report at the end of their assignment to the concerned Bureau Head about their learning experience. (h) Declaration of Secrecy - Interns shall be required to furnish to the Ministry a declaration of secrecy before the commencement of the internship, (i) Termination of Internship - Ministry may instruct an intern to terminate the programme at any time, as Ministry deems fit, without assigning any reason. Ministry's decision shall be final in this regard. Also, an intern cant leave the programme, if she/he so desires, giving prior notice of seven (07) working days to the concerned Bureau Head. No certificate shall be awarded to such an Intern and no stipend shall be paid. Procedure for application (a) Interested applicants pursuing course of studies at various recognized Universities/Institutions may send their applications in the enclosed proforma [Annexure-I] along with their CV. (b) Applicant should specifically mention the specific Batch for which she/he wishes to undertake internship. (©) Applications may be sent by post so as to reach Section Officer (Establishment-IV), Room No.235, C-Wing, Shastri Bhavan, New Delhi-110 115 by 30% August, 2014 [5.30 P.M. by applicants who intends to undertake internship in Batches I-III [October 2014 - March 2015] and by 28% February, 2015 [5.30 P.M.] by applicants who intends to undertake internship in Batches IV-VI [April 2015 to September 2015] Alternatively, application may also be sent by email, aibaxjecks 2d Anic- in (@ Applicants are required to produce a letter from their supervisor/Head of Department/Principal indicating their status in the institution and also conveying “No Objection” for allowing their student to undergo internship programme for the period for which s/he is selected. In case, the tenure of internship is extended beyond two months, a separate “No Objection” will have to be submitted by the intern. (e) Applicant will submit a Character Certificate from Head of their Institutions/ Department/Guide before taking up internship. (©) Applications willbe scrutinized by Standing Selection ‘Committee and the aareal offer will be sent to the candidates selected by the said committer subject to availability of slot. (a) The decision ofthe Selection Committee shall be final and binding and no queries shall be entertained.
