Baptism

The formula;
The Didache (Man Made)
"After the foregoing instructions, baptize in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of
the Holy Spirit, in living [running] water. If you have no living water, then baptize in other
water, and if you are not able in cold, then in warm. If you have neither, pour water three times
on the head, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Before baptism,
let the one baptizing and the one to be baptized fast, as also any others who are able. Command
the one who is to be baptized to fast beforehand for one or two days" ( Didache 7:1 [A.D. 70]).
The Catholic Encyclopedia, II, page 263: "The baptismal formula was changed from the name of
Jesus Christ to the words Father, Son, and Holy Spirit by the Catholic Church in the second
century." { see this website for more details;

Hastings Dictionary of the Bible 1963, page 1015: "The Trinity is not demonstrable by logic or
by Scriptural proofs, The term Trias was first used by Theophilus of Antioch in (AD 180), (The
term Trinity) is not found in Scripture." "The chief Trinitarian text in the New Testament is
the baptismal formula in Matthew 28:19.This late post-resurrection saying, is not found in any
other Gospel or anywhere else in the New Testament, it has been viewed by some scholars as an
interpolation into Matthew. It has also been pointed out that the idea of making disciples is
continued in teaching them, so that the intervening reference to baptism with its Trinitarian
formula was perhaps a later insertion. Eusebius,s text ("in my name" rather than in the name of
the Trinity) has had certain advocates. (Although the Trinitarian formula is now found in the
modern-day book of Matthew), this does not guarantee its source in the historical teaching of
Jesus. It is doubtless better to view the (Trinitarian) formula as derived from early (Catholic)
Christian, perhaps Syrian or Palestinian, baptismal usage (cf Didache 7:1-4), and as a brief
summary of the (Catholic) Church's teaching about God, Christ, and the Spirit."

The Bible; (Gods Word)

Matthew 28:19, Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Mark 16:15-18, And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to
every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not
shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast
out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink
any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Luke 24:46, And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and
to rise from the dead the third day: 47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be
preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Jesus told Nicodemus;

John 3:1-7,
1

There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher

come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again,

he cannot see the kingdom of God.

4

Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second

time into his mother's womb, and be born?

5

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the

Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Apostles preached and obeyed Jesuss commandments

Acts 2:38
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus
Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 2:41
Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were
added unto them about three thousand souls.

Acts 8:12
But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name
of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

Acts Chapter 8
14

Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of

God, they sent unto them Peter and John:

15

Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:

16

(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord

Jesus.)
17

Then laid they [their] hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

Acts Chapter 8
36

And as they went on [their] way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See,

[here is] water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

37

And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said,

I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

38

And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both

Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

39

And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that

the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

Acts Chapter 9
16

For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.

17

And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said,

Brother Saul, the Lord, [even] Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath
sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight

18

forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

Acts Chapter 10
45

And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter,

because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
46

For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

47

Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy

Ghost as well as we?

48

And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to

tarry certain days.

Acts Chapter 19
2

He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him,

We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

3

And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.

Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people,

that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

When they heard [this], they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake

with tongues, and prophesied.

Acts Chapter 22
14

And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and

see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.
15

For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.

16

And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the

name of the Lord.

17

And it came to pass, that, when I was come again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the

temple, I was in a trance;

Peter confirmed the name in Acts;

Acts 4:12, Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven
given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Colossians 3:17, And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord
Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Romans Chapter 6
1

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his

death?
4

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up

from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Galatians Chapter 3
25

But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

26

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

27

For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

28

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor

female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Colossians Chapter 2
10

And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

11

In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the

body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

12

Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with [him] through the faith of the

operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

13

And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened

together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

1 Peter 3:21
The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth
of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus
Christ:

It is sad to say that there will be those that will still believe in false teachings even after
reading scriptural evidence as shown previously. Some will still use scriptures completely out of
context like this one;

Ephesians 2:8-9, 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the
gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Therefore after all that Jesus preached and the Apostles preached and performed. There are
those that Satan will lead to hell simply because they will not hear or obey the truth. There are
people that will hold on to the false teaching of; Salvation by Grace Through Faith ALONE,
even though the book of James lets us know that you cant be saved by faith ALONE.
Notice what James says:
James 2:14-26, What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have
not works? can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye
give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17 Even so faith,
if it hath not works, is dead, being ALONE. 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have
works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19 Thou
believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20 But wilt
thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father
justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22 Seest thou how faith
wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23 And the scripture was
fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and
he was called the Friend of God. 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew
me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19 Thou believest
that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20 But wilt thou
know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified
by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22 Seest thou how faith wrought
with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23 And the scripture was fulfilled which
saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called
the Friend of God. 24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the
messengers, and had sent them out another way? 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead,
so faith without works is dead also.
How much more planner can this be?
Romans 10:9, is not the plan of salvation, it is the principles to salvation.
Romans 10:8-10, But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy
heart:that is, the word of faith, which we preach; [ the word of faith is;] That if thou shalt
confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised

him from the dead, thou Shalt be saved. [it didnt say are saved it means you will be] 10 For
with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto
salvation.
If and when a person follows these principles it will lead them to this; Repent, and be baptized
every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the
gift of the Holy Ghost.
For this same reason Paul asked the disciples he met while traveling; have you received the Holy
Ghost since ye believed? Therefore this shows it takes more than just believing. Put you faith
your belief in action and watch the results.
Keep believing that you will get that job, and dont fill out any applications or go on any job
hunts just have faith and see what happens
Hebrews 11 is filled with witnesses that had faith in God and showed it by their obedience to
him. The word OBEY is a verb, is a word used to describe an action. So if we are to obey gods
word it must be followed up by actions. Therefore when Jesus told Nicodemous that he must be
born of water and spirit to enter the kingdom of God, has not changed. Ye shall know the truth
and the truth will set you free.
