Theoretical demand
Estimation: about 1 to 6 % of all SMEs belong to the target
group, i.e. 200,000 to 1.2 million SMEs.
Projects to be funded 2014-2020
ca. 5,200 Phase 1 projects (fixed lump sum of 50K)
ca. 1,700 Phase 2 projects with an average size of 1.5 M
(or 2550 of an average size of 1 M;1250 of an average size of 2
M)
Low Success Rates: inevitable?
First phase-1 cut-off date, results: 2,666 proposals received
(estimated: 2,500), theoretical success rate: 6.2% (4% ICT-37 to
21% PHC-12)

Bonus: Increase your chances (Fit4Horizon2020)

Encouraging SMEs to participate in H2020 calls by
reimbursing part of costs incurred by proposal preparation
5% of requested EC funding; maximum 5,000 for
participants (and SME instrument), 15,000 for
coordinators
