Lexi, it was so fun to watch you work through this process. I know you
learned a lot and I think your strength in design and composition was
improved upon. Most often, when creating art, no element is forgotten:
line, shape, color, texture, space, form, value. I really think each one of
these elements is used in your workAND used effectively. You
thought about value and texture creating realistic 3-dimensional form;
color creating emphasis and movement at the same time; the outlines,
spaces, and shapes of the pieces being arranged thoughtfully.
I think its visually strong and composed well. The title is appropriate. I
wonder if you should have edited moreless drawings and more
writing like you suggested. Even though I think they all work well
together, is it too much to look at? Maybe, maybe not. You decide.
One criticism is that this collage doesnt include any found objects,
only your drawings. Although a strong piece, the assignments are
meant to challenge your skill and knowledge even further. Dont be
afraid of struggle or failure, because it is through these that true
growth becomes evident.
Great job. Im proud of your work ethic and effort in this project.
