Plain Water Dust Suppression System

Dust Suppression System is designed to suppress the Dust generated

The Pump-motor assembly is located at a suitable place near the water tank & the
spray headers (with spray nozzles) are suitably positioned at the respective dust
Generation points to serve the purpose accurately & the piping is drawn from the
pumping system assembly to header via FCU. Operation of the spray headers are
controlled by the interlinking contacts of the Flow Control Units (FCU), with the MCC
Panel.
Finely atomized spray, apart from suppression of the dust, also forms an envelope
surrounding the fall of material from the wagon to prevent dust particles to escape
out.
Spraying continues for a preset time after discharge of material from the wagon to
the hopper with the help of timer circuit so that all the dust settles considering the
slow velocity of settling of the micron size particles.
The Dust Suppression system for the Wagon Tippler is done through three headers
viz. superior, posterior and frontal. Each of the Headers will have a Flow Control Unit
comprising of Manual control Globe valve, Y-strainer and normally closed 2-way
Solenoid valve.
Sequence of Operation:
(i)

The System considered is plain water type dust suppression system at dust
generation point.
(ii) Spray nozzles would be fitted at the following points from three Spray Bars.
Spray Bar A would be mounted along the length at the top side of the Tippler.
Spray bars B & C would be mounted along the length at the bottom of the
Tippler hopper.
The Spray Bar A would operative as soon as the tipping operation starts and
during the actual tippling operation itself. Flow Control Unit-1 controls
operation of Spray Bar A and it operates for a predetermined time. As soon
as the Flow Control Unit -1 stops it gives signal to Flow Control Unit -2 & 3 to
start spraying. Flow Control Unit 2 & 3 controls operation of Spray Bar B & C,
They operate for a predetermined time.
(iii) The complete spraying sequence will be started by a manually operated push
button. For automatic operation selector switch is positioned in auto-mode.
