Summer
Her dad owns a diner on the outskirts of Los Angeles. The family was born and
raised there. Summer is the younger sister of Jennifer, the up-and-coming
fashion designer. They care about each other deeply, but Jennifer has always
tried to fulfil the role of a mother to Summer, this has always been seen as
overprotective and the sisters quarrel over the controlling nature of Jennifer.
Summers best friend is Charlie. Charlie lived next to Summer when they were
kids. They went to high school together which we explore in the first act. Charlie
always dreamt of becoming a singer. He became famous as a pop star and the
contrast between the two shows from Act 2 onwards as Charlies fame becomes
to put pressure on him and Summer tries to hide her jealously as his success
spirals out of control.
