Dear Ban-Ki-Moon,

Hi how are you doing? I hope everything is well in your life, my name is
Jenna Gallagher and I have a few important issues that I would like to
address with you. Starting out with globalization, and how important it is to
live in a globalized world. Globalization has changed the ways people live,
their outlook on life, and interactions with others. Due to advancements in
technology communicating, blending of cultures, and a worldwide sharing of
ideas. If there was globalization was not present, our world would not be the
way it is today.
Mass media has impacted our world in advanced ways, statistics show
that 98% of people living in the United States of America today have at the
least one television set in their house hold. Also in Western Europe most
households hold more than one television set. In a total 2.5 billion People in
our world today have regular access to a television set! These little television
sets have made a huge impact on educating our world on things that every
nation should be educated on. A preview of a serious and important world
event is shown to every nation in just minutes or even seconds of time. Mass
media has provided knowledge of wars, natural disasters, political issues,
and worldwide forms of entertainment.
Other than just the televisions in our world today devices like radios,
telephones, and movies are the worlds most popular forms of
entertainment! These devices do not just entertain, but they show people
different values of different nations around the world. Without these valuable
types of mass media, our world would not be as educated as it is todayalso
just plain boring!
Also, Mr. Ban-Ki-Moon, I have took interest in your speech on January
8th, 2015 about making an impassioned appeal for tolerance. From my
knowledge I can tell that in your speech you wanted to inform the world on
how we can and must heal the tensions within the different societies. Due to
the unbelievably horrible attack on the staff of the French satirical magazine
and in the face of ongoing violence.
I understand that we have seen and experienced acts of extremists
brutally attacking and also threatening different communities in societies.
This has caused worrying tensions between nations all over the world. I
understand that your appeal came after your informal briefing to the 193- UN
general assembly where you had set the campaign for action to wrap up the
unfinished business of Millennium Development goals and outline a new
global agenda, centered on human rights.
I came to realize that your main purpose of this appeal was to inform
everyone around the world that this should never be seen as a war of

religion, for religion, or on religion. And I completely agree with your

statements in this appeal, and I think that the mocking of religious beliefs
should come to an end and this will solve this horrific conflict that continues
to take place in our world today.
