Sorting-Ladybugs
Students will be given a worksheet with three sections
They will Sort the ladybugs (there are multiple ways- Color
of wings, size or color of spots)
They will glue the bugs into the appropriate section
Label each section with their criteria (ie, black spots, red
spots..)
ASSESSMENT: Are the students able to identify similarities and
differences among the ladybugs? Can they articulate why they
sorted them this way?
Patterns: Fill in and Identify Core
Students will be given two worksheets, each with a
different pattern
For pattern 1: extend the arrow pattern following the rule
you are given, create a new pattern that follows the same
pattern rule
For pattern 2: Fill in the missing element, write out the
pattern rule, create a new pattern that follows the same
pattern rule
Circle the core of each pattern

Lesson
Now that we are all done with this section we will be moving
onto Shape and Space. We will be looking at how to read a
calendar (which you should all know about) and identifying
shapes.
