RALLY FOR PUBLIC SERVICES PCS, PROTECTING SERVICES, DEFENDING JOBS Working people and their families are being told that as a result of the greed of bankers and corporate executives everyone must now ‘pay’ for the economic crisis.
We reject the notion that the solution to the economic
crisis, and the accumulating national debt, is to attack public services, freeze pay, increase privatisation and cut pensions and benefits.
Good quality public services are delivered every day by
workers who are dedicated to what they do and who believe in social justice.
As trade unionists representing workers in both the
private and the public sector we recognise the need for economic policies which help not hinder working people and their families.
We have organised a march and rally to highlight the
need to protect jobs, pay and public services. The march and rally is supported by a number of trade unions and the NWTUC and we ask you to support our campaign and get involved.
“The attacks on public services are short-sighted
and are designed solely to save money in the most arbitrary manner possible. Billions of pounds are lost as a consequence of a lack of government action in respect of tax avoidance and evasion. It is this area where Government should look to raise revenue before rushing to devastate public services.”
