ASSIGNMENT 04
Consider a (new) residential building (house type T4), which location and characteristics are
defined in Annex A.
In the given conditions, determine:
1) Which regulation must be verified for this building, RCCTE or RSECE? Justify.
2) Considering that this building must verify the RCCTE, determine the shape factor range
(according to RCCTE) that allows the verification of RCCTE in terms of the energy
consumption limits.
3) Assuming a shape factor of 1.5, determine the energy label for this building according to
the Portuguese regulation. What would be the impact on the building label if the solar
panels contribution to the DHW production could be increased by a factor of 30%.

In all cases, consider the following equipment:

Cooling system: Chiller (Absortion cyle)

Domestic Hot Water production (DHW): Electric boiler with 100mm of thermal
insulation
