World Craft Studios is a business that deals with events within the local
government and bespoke projects for clients all over the UK. In our first few years
we have developed a strong link with local universities, the community of
Nottingham and with local businesses. We provide constant learning for our staff.
This ensures that they remain up-to-date with the latest software and building
laws/materials. Our buildings/structures are all environmentally friendly and
sustainable. This allows for a long structure life and the ability to reuse structures.
Our office is a creative, positive and constructive environment. In our first few
years our practice has grown and developed in a way that has increased our
activity and sparked even greater creativity.
Reaction to Strengths/weaknesses/PESTEL
Within our practice our strengths are our temporary designs for events and
businesses. My role in this is researching methods to create these designs and
working closely with clients to ensure they get what they need from the project.
We also have a charity side to the business. My role is to organise fundraising
events with the marketing manager and researching efficient and structurally
sound methods of assembling temporary structures for use in countries that have
experienced natural disasters.
One of our weaknesses in the practice is that we will have to work in a very
competitive system. To deal with this I will work with the marketing manager to
organise events and create advertisements to promote our business. I will also in
our first few years take on competitions to get recognition from peers within the
Architecture community.
Having come out of the current recession the government now has more money
for community events. In my role I will spot which events could be profitable for
our designs and work with the government to create a great community
experience in Nottingham.
Weve predicted that the green party will have slightly more power. In my role I
will research green methods of construction and make sure the practice keeps up
to date with green building regulations.
