Generally the motions of a vessel are first examined in the

frequency domain to asses the motions against limiting
motion criteria. MOSES uses 3D Diffraction or alternatively
3D Strip theory codes in determining a vessel hydrodynamics.
Analysing single or multiple vessels in various seastates and using post processing software we are able
to analyse:
Regular and Irregular Waves
Absolute and relative Motions
Velocities and accelerations due to combined motions
Motions sickness criteria
Operability Performance indicators
Of significant importance to our clients are the vessel cargo accelerations and
often the crane tip motions. The crane tip velocities and accelerations form the
basis of operability factors for all offshore and subsea lifts.
As experienced Naval Architects the team at ONA Engineers are well practised
in assessing vessel motions with respect to derivation of operability factors for
