Blooms Taxonomy
Learning Goal:
We will develop our ability to create higher level thinking questions.

Benjamin Bloom created this taxonomy for categorizing level of abstraction of questions that commonly
occur in educational settings.
As questions become more
abstract, they become more
complex and as a result
require higher level thinking
skills in order to answer.
The complexity of questions
should gradually increase
to ensure:
first the
comprehension of
what is read;
next a more in-depth
analysis of the text;
then a connection
beyond the text.
Use the chart above to prompt the development of questions based on the short stories studied in class.
