Accessibility of Voter Registration Places for Disadvantaged Populations (Summer 2014- present)
Research in Texas, South Dakota, and North Carolina used to support Department of Justice court
cases challenging voter registration laws or justifying the opening of new registration locations.
Compiled socio-demographic datasets from Census Data using American FactFinder
Joined socio-demographic datasets to shapefiles to perform spatial analysis in ArcGIS
Georeferenced registration places and used Network Analyst extension to determine accessibility
Accessibility to Dialysis Treatment Centers for Rural Populations (Fall 2014-present)
Performed spatial analysis to support a research paper supporting in-home dialysis treatment
Joined patient and facility location data (zip codes) nationwide to shapefiles in ArcGIS
Calculated center of population for every zip code in the U.S. using a Python script tool.
Used Network Analyst to determine the distance traveled for treatment by each patient.
