To Whom It May Concern:

Samantha Garcia spent 100 hours with me as an intern in the Student Life
department at Trinity Lutheran College during the summer and fall semester
of 2014, working in the area of Career Services. She was tasked specifically
with creating a resume and cover letter guide to be given to students as well
as creating a calendar of career events that could take place throughout the
school year. She worked closely with myself, other professionals in our
department, as well as students at Trinity.
Samantha was eager to contribute to our program, and her research skills
were used well as I tasked her with understanding some best practices in
Career Services before she dove in to the development of resources.
Through her research of best practices at other institutions, she was able to
offer valuable thoughts and insights into Career Services being offered at a
very small institution.
As Samantha continues in the field of Student Development, her passion to
help students and see students grow will be her foundation. Samantha
brought with her some experience in Career Services and wanted to learn
how she could make that experience translate to a very different type of
institution with very different students. This is a very necessary skill in the
world of Student Development as there are so many different types of
institutions and students, a good practitioner needs to be able to adapt.
Samanthas experience at Trinity has opened her up to a variety of areas
within Student Development and allowed her to work with a diverse group
of students which has definitely stretched her abilities.
It has been my pleasure to host Samantha in this internship. Her
contributions have furthered the work we do here at Trinity Lutheran
College.
Sincerely,
Andrea Ide, MA
