Reading:
We
have
been
reading
Tomorrow
when
the
War
Began.
If
you
would
like
to
catch
up
on
this,
we
have
read
up
to
chapter
11.
In
focus
groups
we
have
been
working
on
whatever
YOU
need
to
work
on.
These
are
the
strategies
you
should
be
looking
at:
Understanding
Sequence
Comparing
&
Contrasting.
Attached
is
a
reading
activity
to
practice
both.
We
also
looked
at
visualising
as
a
strategy
using
your
5
senses
to
describe
a
place,
person
or
thing.
Writing:
Last
term
we
looked
at
figurative
language
and
how
to
use
it
effectively
to
make
your
writing
more
descriptive.
We
had
mini
lessons
to
explore
writing
interesting
descriptions
to
describe
people,
places
and
different
objects.
Here
is
a
link
of
a
rap
song
we
watched,
which
describes
different
types
of
figurative
language.
Youtube
Rap
Song
We
wrote
ballads
for
our
Writers
Gift.
You
might
like
to
have
a
go,
using
as
much
figurative
language
as
you
can,
and
as
suitable
for
your
piece.
Maths:
We
have
worked
on
revising
number
skills
so
times
tables,
recognising
and
using
decimal
numbers
and
had
a
look
at
percentages.
We
went
shopping
and
the
students
had
to
work
out
how
much
discount
they
received
if
they
got
a
certain
percentage
off
the
original
price.
We
looked
at
different
angles
how
to
classify
them
i.e.
obtuse,
acute,
reflex,
straight
angle.
We
also
looked
at
measuring
them
accurately
with
a
protractor.
Finally
we
learned
how
to
find
the
angle
sum
of
a
given
shape
i.e.
the
angle
sum
of
a
triangle
will
always
be
180.
The
angle
sum
of
a
square
will
always
be
360.
We
did
the
fractions,
decimals
and
percentage
test
as
a
diagnostic
so
for
me
to
find
out
what
you
already
know
about
fractions.
Ive
also
attached
some
activities
you
could
try
to
catch
up
on
maths.
Thats
it!
(Not
as
much
as
you
may
think)
Hope
that
helps,
Miss
