The Need to Support Clean Water Projects
Over 3.6 percent of the global diseases issue can be prevented by improving water supply,
sanitation, and hygiene, according to WHO report
Clean water alone can reduce water-related deaths by 21 percent
Sanitation alone can reduce water-related deaths by 37.5 percent
Handwashing alone can reduce water-related deaths by 35 percent
Every $1 invested in improving water supply and sanitation can yield
from $4 to $12 for the local economy
Just $30 can provide clean water for one person in need
Water is the main ingredient in Coca-Colas beverages, essential to its
business
Communities that host its bottling plants are Coca-Colas consumer base

Consist of three 5K events and two product marketing events from
June 1 to August 31, 2014
The for-profit 5K events held in three cities ($25 registration fee):
Seaport Center, Boston, June 18, 2014, 9 a. m.
Riverside Park, New York, July 18, 2014, 9 a.m.
Long Beach, Los Angeles, August 18, 2014, 9 a.m.
Lauren Fleshman will lead the5Ks and share professional running
techniques with participants
Online registration available from May 1 to May 22, 2014, at both
websites of Coca-Cola and charity: water
Free uniforms for runners distributed after registration
15 percent of sales revenue of Glacau smartwater supports charity: water
Sell limited edition T-shirts and bottles at Coca-Cola online store and charity: water online store; 30
percent of sales revenue benefits charity: water
All donations raised will 100 percent support charity: water for clean water projects worldwide
