Indonesias economic growth has been 6.5% in 2011, which is the fastest rate of growth in
decades. But unfortunately, the issue of population growth which is not at the same pace with
the economic capacity has become an unsolvable issue. The impact of this situation will
impact the community being unable to improve familys health and welfare. For example,
more than 12 per cent of Indonesias population lives under national poverty line 1 and also
huge amount of energy that needs. The World Bank stated that although Indonesias poverty
have decreased by 2.5%, the rate is still 14.2% from the total population who lives under 1$ a
day2. Hopefully by implementing family planning program, a major challenge to meet a
sustainable development, like huge population, can be reduce.
