Independent T-Test
a. Definition- Helps compare whether two groups have different average values.
b. Research Study that used it:- Testing Efficacy of Team Teaching
c. Hypothesis- Is there a statistically significant difference in student achievement in
a research and statistics course between team taught and solo taught sections.
d. Independent Variable-The teaching methods used team taught and solo taught.
e. Dependent Variable- The comfort with the course, relationship, and interest in the
course.
2. Dependent T-Test
a. Definition-Used when the samples are dependent (when there is only one sample
that has been tested twice) This is done through repeated measures.
b. Research Study that used it: Happiness of Twins
c. Hypothesis- Scores of twins will be the same.
d. Independent Variable- The measures used to determine the twins happiness.

assess the contribution of each variable to the variation.
b. Research Study that used it: A Study of Student Attitudes and Performance in an

d. Independent Variable- traditional and online course
e.Dependent Variable- mean score

a. Definition-The equivalent of the one-way ANOVA, but for related, not

measures ANOVA is also referred to as a within subjects ANOVA or ANOVA

for correlated samples.

a. Definition- An extension of analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) methods to cover
cases where there is more than one dependent variable and where the control of
concomitant continuous independent variables- covariates.
b. Research Study that used it:- Total quality management (TQM) strategy and
organizational
c. characteristics: Evidence from a recent WTO member
d. Hypothesis- Can TQM strategy be considered as a set of practices?
Are there any differences in implementing TQM between companies according to

of new products and services)?

industry type, and degree of innovation)
