maintain a sense of balance. I will be mindful of the evolving occupational therapy profession
and will remain ambitious to obtain my doctorate degree in the future.
Strengths
My top five strengths consist of the following characteristics: includer, individualization,
developer, responsibility, positivity. I feel that these qualities accurately portray my personality
characteristics demonstrating consistent acceptance of others. I continuously place myself in the
circumstances presented to the individual, to better understand how certain conditions may make
someone feel, creating a greater sense of acceptance. I can easily get along with people of all
ages with the ability to involve everyone so nobody feels excluded. I feel that I am reliable and
punctual, demonstrating qualities that are essential within a working environment. I continuously
find the good in each person and find greater opportunities to enhance their individualized
characteristics.
I feel that I have a sense of directing others toward success and accomplishing challenges
to encourage individualized growth. I have always been one to continuously challenge myself to
accomplish greater goals than I ever imagined. I continue to portray the mentality if I can do it,
anyone can do it to inspire individuals to reach for their dreams. I feel that I provide sufficient
support and motivation to various individuals with hopes to contribute to their accomplishments.
I provide awareness of others contributions, with hopes to encourage individuals to utilize their
strengths in which provides a sense of self-worth.
Responsibility is essential component within a leadership position, demonstrating
accountability and sense of trust. This portrays my individual demeanor due to my consistent
desire to prioritize accountability over specific desires. I believe that I have strong work ethics
with a sense of trust to guide decisions and govern actions. I feel that I openly acknowledge my
mistakes and shortcomings, which many individuals struggle to accept. I also feel that I will go
out of my way to do what was promised because I never like to let anyone down. I always try to
remain positive provided the situation rather than concentrate on pessimistic beliefs. Friends find
comfort seeking advice or guidance from me, because I remain nonjudgmental and will do
anything to assist them toward a possible solution. I enjoy interacting with individuals and
demonstrate excitement toward future ideas.
Growth Needs
Due to my natural inclination to see the best in people and situations, I over-invest in
losing causes. I need to acknowledge that there are more opportune situations and understand I
cannot help everyone. I also need to push myself to say no to sustain balance within my life. I am
instinctively responsible and must be selective with areas that matter most to me to avoid
becoming overwhelmed. I must surround myself with positive people and avoid negative people
that bring me down. This will promote positive energy and enlighten perspectives of one another.
I must seek opportunities to vocalize effectively when presenting a speech. Presenting topics in
which I am compassionate about will provide greater chances to utilize personal experiences that
will provide the audience with raw evidence. This will validate my points with much stronger
content than generic information filled with theories.
Leadership Model
The leadership model in which I feel demonstrates my personality and future endeavors
replicates servant leadership. Servant leadership is a philosophy & set of practices that enriches
the lives of individuals, builds better organizations and ultimately creates a more compassionate
world. This focuses primarily on the growth and well-being of people and the communities to
which they belong.
