Itmeans - a) Letters or Alphabets the fundamental unit of a language b) Shade - The basis of a colour scheme ©) Varnam also refers to the fundamental unitof a RAGAin music d) Caste. Here, in our article we are ‘Shadakshari namely. aling with the connection between the first two meanings (a & b ) above in relation to Bala im kleem sauh sauh kleem eim™ We will deal with first, third & fith beeja first and then go to 2nd, ath & 6th beeja. The first beeja "elm". This beeja is derived from the Vakbhava Kota of Sri Vidya Panchadasi mantra. As per" Thiru Moolar Thirumandiram” - a most ancient and authoritative tantric text in Tamil, Vakbhava koota is yellow in colour. Refer Sloka no- 1307 of Tantra Four - Bhuvanapathi Chakkaram which states in Tamil ~" KAKARADI YORE EINDUM KANIA PONMAI" - The five letters starting from "ka" are golden yellow in colour. As per Devi Mahathmyam, The ever existant Foremost deity " ADYA MAHALAKSHMI"--- THE EMBODIMENT OF ALL ‘THREE GUNAS first created out of Her thamo guna MAHAKALI who in tum created out of Her own self, the pair" Rudra & Thrayee Vidy The first beeja "elm" thus also represents the "Mahakall” in Her creative perspective justifying the golden yellow colour. Mabakaliis described as Mahamaya, Mahakalee, Mahamaari, Hunger, Thirst and Sleep etc. As JatarAgniis connected with some of these namas, this beejais also taken as Agni beeja. This beejam also represents the thureeya avastha of gnyanis who possess the qualities ~ Vairagya, Mumukshathva, state of samadhi & Vimala manas. Now we will deal with third beeja "sauh". This beeja is derived from the "shakthi koota’ of the 15 letttered Sri Vidya mantra. After creating Mahakalee, Adya Mahalakshmi created Mahasaraswathi as an embodiment of Her salwa guna. Her names are Maha Vidya, Maha vanee, Aarya, Vak etc. The twins created by Her, " Vishnu & Gauri" also possess Her qualities of Calmness, Piety, Aardhrathva etc. They are also called as "Narayana & Narayani". The root word "Nara" means water. Hence "sauh" is "salila or Apa" beeja. This beeja represents "thureeyaa theetha” avastha, denoted by five types of Mukthinamely sAlokya, sAmeepya, sAroopya, sAyujya and kaivalya mukthis. It also represents the “adho mukha of Lord Shanmuga, Avalokitheshwara of Buddhism and the pious face of Jesus. Let us now discuss the colour of this beeja. As per Devi Mahathmya the shoulders of Mahishasura mardhini were formed by the tejas of Vishnu. Further Deviis subsequently described as "Neela bhujA in sloka no 8 of Vaikruthika rahasyam. Hence it goes without saying that the colour of Vishnu and parvathi along with the oceanis blue. We will now discuss the fifth beoja namely “kleem”. This beeja is derived from the middle koota of Sri Vidya 15 lettered mantra which is red in color. In the same verse of Thitumoolar Thirumanthiram referred to above, itis stated — AKAADI YORARA THAME POLUM — The six letters created from “a” are red hued. This beeja represents the first & foremost ADYA, Mahalakshmi's creations namely Brahma & Lakshmi. Although Mahalakshmi is thrigunathmaka, Brahma & Lakshmi are created out of Her Rajo Guna and hence they are Red coloured. This beeja represents the “Jagrat Avastha" of Gnyanis and is expressed in the form of Ashtanga yoga & different forms of penance. We have so far covered the three main beejas with basic colours Yellow, Red & Blue. In any colour scheme we will have mixed colours. Adya Mahalakshmi formed three mithunas out of the initially created three twins to propagate creation uninterruptedly through male / female unions. Thus “Thrayee" /saraswathi created by MahakAli and hence yellow in colour was given to Brahma red in colour. Thus yellow + Red = orange is depicted in the colourful diagram in between Yellow & Red colours As this mithuna couple is engaged in creation (Srushti) for which predominantly rajo guna is needed the beeja of this mithuna is"kleem”. Thisis the second beeja in Bala shadakshari mantra and represents “Jagrat” avastha of ordinary people with Uthpatthi, Jagara, Bodha & indulgence as kalaas. Shree or Lakshmi created by Adya Mahalakshmi was given in marriage to Vasundara or Vishnu. The colour combination here is that of Red + Blue= Violet. As vishnu's maintenance function (sthithi kruthyam) is predominantly of sathwa guna the beeja of this mithuna is “sauh’. This is the fourth beeja in shadakshari Bala mantra representing the swapna avastha of ordinary people with “Abhilasha, Brama, Chintha, & Remembarance as kalaas. Gauri / Parvathi created by Maha Saraswathi, and hence blue in colour was given in marriage to Rudra or Siva created by Maha Kalee and hence yellow in colour. Thus here the colour combination is. Yellow + Blue = Green. As Rudra’s thamo Guna is predominant in the Laya or Samhara kruthya of this mithuna, the beeja of this mithuna is appropriately “eim’, which is same as that of Maha Kalee Herself. This is the sixth beeja in Bala Shadakshari mantra and represents the sushupthi avastha of ordinary people with “Sleep, Coma, Loss of memory, & Death as its kalaas Now what is the colour of Goddess Mahalakshmi Herself, It is a combination of three colours Yellow, Blue & Red. Her beeja is aum or om which is a combination of Akara, Ukara & Makara which intum represents the three gunas. Hence the Next time you see a rainbow, try to see the six beejas of bala shadakshari mantra & OM in them along with dieties respresented by them. went ae ahtferer aut ‘ tant Qaat weasT wa tt ™ ae c| a werarett at oT wa | fra aeadt wet areata Mahakali | Thamas Shiva Saraswati] Yellow Siblings 2 .
