Re: Herbalife targets minorities
Dear Chairwoman Ranier,
| arm writing to urge the Federal Irade Commission (FI) to open an investigation nt allegations thatthe multi
level marketing company Herbal Ld. is @ comple and abusive pyramid scheme. These allegatians—vhih have
alrcady ben ised by many including Congresswaman Linda Sanchez and the Hispanic Federationsuggest that
Herbalife until targats minority groups and falsely markets itso a an easy business opportunity Instead of
seling nutrition products Herbalife sells these apprtunites ta people in vereble communities.
Herbalife executives have already admitted ta targeting minority groups, apeny boasting about the company’s
"African American intative" and “Latina business", By recruiting vulnerable people in these communities with
litle or na business experience, Herbalife convinces new sellers to ignore the risks and high costs of their
program, Herbalife’ recruitment techniques pramise financial reed with only a few hours of work, an enc
affer to immigeants and others struggling to find job
Que to Herbalife's crushing, above-average costs. it is hard for these people te sell enough of the product in
order to realize a significant return on investment,
‘hope the FTC will open a full investigation into Herbalife's recruitment tactics. If they prove ta be biased and
unfair, Herbalife would be responsible for personal harm and financial distress throughout minority cammunities.
