Executive Assistant/ Purchasing Manager/ Assistant Lab Tech
2007
TEXAS LABS, LTD- San Antonio, TX

August 2006 October

Managed a team of 4 team leaders and acted as a liaison between the departments and
company owner. As executive assistant it was important to know the in and outs of each
department to better utilize their skills and help troubleshoot difficult situations.
Ensured each department was in compliance with internal and external policies and procedures
by inspecting each department daily and gave daily updates to the owner. Made sure the MSDS
was current with each chemicals manufacturer and that each employee knew where to locate
the reading material. Compared and purchased office materials, reagents, and equipment with
the goal of reducing cost within an allotted budget by building a professional rapport with
various vendors. In the Billing Department I entered billing codes then followed up with making
calls to the various Medical Insurance Companies to seek reimbursement for the blood work
and tests. I worked in Processing where I verified all the in coming blood samples to the
information entered onto the requisitions and had to call the facility if there were any variations
in the data provided. I was also able to run the Chemistry, Special Chemistry, Hematology, and
Coagulation instruments. A senior technician had to review the data before it was released to
the patients physician.
