1.

What is the general relationship between my self-perception and the observations of other
people?
Based on my LPI results, I realized that I need to improve my skills in certain ways. The overall
results showed that my observers gave me lower scores than what I expected. They gave me
between 20 and 25, which was great, but I gave myself between 23 and 30. This opened my eyes
to improve my skills in order to reach my goal. In my opinion, this may happen by being more
confident about my skills that relate to other people.
2. What areas (or key practices) are there relative agreements between others and myself
about both my strengths and areas for improvement in each practice?
When I was looking closer at the behaviors, there were two that the observers and myself scored
very closely. I would say the categories that had the smallest gap were, Inspire a Shared Vision
and Encourage the Heart. My score was 24 and the average score of my observers was 23.3 for
the Inspire a Shared Vision area. My score on Encourage the Heart was 25, and my observers
score was 23.7. On these two areas I feel very strongly. I gave myself mostly fours in this area
because I feel like I do a good job describing ideal capabilities, communicating purpose and
meaning and encouraging others. I am glad that my observers see me that way. Model the Way
was the next largest gap. My self-observation was 26 and observers average score was 22.8.
Challenge the process is my fourth largest gap among other sections. My self-observation was
27, and my observers score was 23.7. Enable Others to Act was the largest gap form among all
five practices. My score was 30, and my observers score was 24.8. I think Model the Way,
Challenge the Process, and Enable Others to Act are the most important areas that I need to
improve myself.

3. In what areas (or key practices) are there big enough gaps between others and myself
that indicate opportunities for improvement?

The Model the way, Challenge the Process and Enable Others to Act areas had very big gaps
between what I thought and what my observers thought. Model the Way is strong for me in the
sense that I set expectations, and then need to make sure that the expectations are met. I have
been told that Im great at doing this; I set high expectation for my friends and colleagues after I
took this inventory. I know what I need to achieve them. Challenge the process was my next
biggest gap. I gave myself a higher score and my observers gave me a low grade. This focuses a
lot of improvement to my future plans, which I need to help others try out new ideas, search for
innovative ways to improve and always ask what can we learn?
Enable others to act was my biggest gap. I gave myself higher score than my observers gave me.
According to this, it encourage me, an opportunity to me to actively listen to others, gives others
freedom and choice, provide leadership opportunities for others, foster cooperative relationship,
and support decision other people make.
4. For each of the 5 leadership practices, what is one behavior within that practice
that I can put into action for my growth and development?

common values.
Goal or Strategy >> Im going to build consensus around the
organizations values. I think better to make a list of values and ensure
that the list is visible to everyone who works with me.
Practice >> # 2 I need to look ahead and communicate in the future
Goal or Strategy >> Im going to talk about future trends that will influence
how

our work gets done.


Practice >> # 18 I need to ask what we can learn?
Goal or Strategy >> I think I need to ask, What can we learn? when things
dont go as I expected .
Practice >> # 19 I need to support decision my friends and colleagues make
Goal or Strategy >> Im going to support the decision that other people make
on their own by helping them achieve their goals.
Practice >> # 20 I need to publicly recognize and understand alignment with
values
Goal or Strategy >> Im going to publicly recognize and understand people
who exemplify commitment to shared values. I need to choose to share
values and be watchful of how these values come to life in the organization
and talk about what I see myself.
