What is a contradictory premise?

When the two main premises contradict each

Example
Petaluma is becoming increasingly more
modern with the addition of two new shopping
centers, and more grants being given to
schools.

Example
A recent McDonalds commercial claims that Petaluma is
quaint, meaning attractively unusual or old-fashioned.

Why is this a contrary premise?

Because McDonalds is advertising a fake
Petaluma, that we know does not exist. Their
use of quaint to describe Petaluma does not
correlate with our image of a rapidly growing
Petaluma.

Archeological records suggest that humans
came to existence from a long process of
miniscule changes, collectively called evolution.

There are religious documents that state that
only God created us humans, and that we have
no predecessors

Why is this a contrary premise?

Evolution suggests that humans are ancestors of very
primitive animals, however religious texts say that there
was no earlier being, that God made humans.

Our Explanation
Our world is filled with contrary premises, however nowhere is it more apparent than in advertisements. The McDonalds
ad for example, was completely fallacious, not to mention degrading. Petaluma has become so urbanized over these
past few years, however we are being labeled quaint, completely contrary to the main premise. This would mislead
customers to the premise that McDonalds is a very traditional place, as there is one in a quaint a town as Petaluma.
Although the McDonalds commercial is a contemporary fallacy, the Evolution theory argument has been a contrary
fallacy for many decades.. The Theory of Evolution has clashed with the logic of God, both equally assert unique
perspectives that contradicts the other. Ever since the beginning of religion God has been credited with His ultimate
creation: man. However, archeological records show that humans evolved from more primitave beings, which is
contrary to what religion tells us.
