Student have been working at different centers in the classroom from the beginning
of the year- math, language, and the arts

When students arrive at the science table check for prior


knowledge by asking questions such as:
What is this called?
Where did you see a pumpkin before?
What can we use a pumpkin for?

-why?
-With each group that comes to the table we will be able to
explore with the pumpkin using different classroom objects
- I will graph students response using clothes pins on a white
board
-I will allow students to explore with their senses
-What do you see? etc.
-Students will have the opportunity to look at different books
about pumpkin/ sink and float
