The Big Three

Zeus: The king of Olympus
Poseidon: The king of the Sea
Hades: The Ruler of the Underworld
And 9 other large gods other than these
three.

How did the gods become what they

are today???
The great titan Kronos the father of the three gods
was killed by his own children. The Zeus and
Poseidon convinced Hades to create the Kraken.
They used the Kraken to defeat Kronos. After that
the three brothers were the rulers of the earth. Or is
this how we thought it happened.

Thats wrong...
The Three brothers didnt use the Kraken to defeat Kronos. When Zeus, Poseidon, and
hades waged war of Kronos, Zeus released the cyclops from Kronoss captivity. In
return they created the three most powerful weapons in the god and man world.
Zeus: the Lighting bolt
Poseidon: the Trident
Hades: the Helmet of Darkness
With the combined power of these weapons they managed to beat Cronos. And take
what was rightfully theirs.

Influence on Carbon based

lifeforms.
The Greek Gods/Heroes were worshiped for help or
success in certain hobbies. The people of Greece
lived to please the gods.

The soldiers prayed to Ares for battle comfort

the women to Athena for beauty

the kings to Zeus for the power for great leadership

The fisherman to Poseidon for large fish catches

The artist to Minerva for the power to create beautiful pieces of art.

Shrines and temples.

The people of greece built shrines and temples for the worship and devotion
to the top three gods and sons and daughters of the gods. These temples are
all round the globe, from greece to Nashville, Tennessee.
(Such as; The Pantheon, Mount Olympus, The Parthenon.)

The oldest sources of Greek Mythology,

Both by Homer. The iliad.
SPEAK, MEMORY
Of the cunning hero,

Of these things,

The wanderer, blown off course time and again

After he plundered Troys sacred heights.

Speak, Immortal One,

And tell the tale once more in our time.

Speak
Of all the cities he saw, the minds he grasped,

By now, all the others who had fought at Troy

The suffering deep in his heart at sea

At least those who had survived the war and the sea

As he struggled to survive and bring his men home

Were safely back home. Only Odysseus

But could not save them, hard as he tried

Still longed to return to his home and his wife.

The foolsdestroyed by their own recklessness

The nymph Calypso, a powerful goddess

When they ate the oxen of Hyperion the Sun,

And beautifulwas clinging to him

And that god snuffed out their day of return.

In her caverns and yearned to possess him

Homer part two! The Odyssey

Achilles wrath, to Greece the direful spring

Declare, O Muse! in what ill-fated hour

Of woes unnumberd, heavenly goddess, sing!

Sprung the fierce strife, from what offended power

That wrath which hurld to Plutos gloomy reign

Latonas son a dire contagion spread,

The souls of mighty chiefs untimely slain;

And heapd the camp with mountains of the dead;

Whose limbs unburied on the naked shore,

The king of men his reverent priest defied,

Devouring dogs and hungry vultures tore.

And for the kings offence the people died.

Since great Achilles and Atrides strove,

Such was the sovereign doom, and such the will of Jove!

Did you know?

Did you know that every God, hero, and
monster taking part in myths had some sort of
