History

Founded in 2010 at Rutgers University


em[POWER} aSempts to coordinate and
streamline the process of waste scavengers
The em[POWER] model helps to improve the
sor,ng eciency of recyclable materials, turn
waste and waster water into electricity, assist
in the crea,on of high quality compost, and
provide the nucleus for a variety of community-
owned businesses

Signicance
Over 50,000 non-prots are created a year
Many non-prots have a dicult ,me acquiring
funds and resources to meet their organiza,on
goals
Partnerships can help organiza,ons share
resources at minimal or no cost, while gaining
benets
