Book by Joy Hakim The Story of Science-----These three books are a
reference for many topics on the subject of science. This (3) series book collection is my personal reading collection on many of the topics of science and science history. 2. Book by Burke Classroom Management-----I have used this book on numerous occasions to help me understand and relate to situations and students that I have come across in the classroom. 3. Book by Jeanne E. Ormrod - Educational Psychology -----This book is a true textbook. This book has been used as a reference source the entire time that I have owned it. It seems that although there are many other books that I have been exposed to, this one is a true reference source. 4. Book by Fay & Funk -Teaching with Love and Logic - There are an abundance of tools and skills to communicate with students in positive and progressive ways. This book helps eliminate some of the frustration that can come from teaching in difficult situations. 5. Book by John Dewey Experience and Education----- This book reminds me that teaching in a way that causes the students to become engaged in their learning is essential to their academic growth and development. 6. Book by Paulo Freire Pedagogy of the Oppressed ----- This book helps me to be cognizant of not using the banking method of teaching that was used extensively in this country not too long ago. I also am caused to remember to interact with each student in a way that facilities intelligent exchange. 7. Book by Gloria Ladson-Billings- The Dream Keepers: Successful Teachers of African American Children This book has the feel of providing a unique perspective. This book will be used as a reference for understanding and communicating with students of color and challenging socioeconomic backgrounds. 8. Book by Matt Copeland - Socratic Circles -----Although I was very familiar with the idea and practices of the general concept of Socratic circles, reading this book helped me to go much further in my understanding of the concept of ways of learning. 9. Website - Weebly.com -----This site has been the simplest site to use for projects like the GSU Practicum Portfolio. I will encourage others to watch the (1 hour) video and save many hours of pain and discomfort. This site allows you to build your documents on your computer and then easily upload the documents to your website. A clear understanding of how relatively easily this site is to use compared to other do it your websites is profound.
10. Website WWW.Grammarly.com
------- This site is great for all students not respective of how good they are with grammar, spelling and punctuation skills. I have only been actively aware of this site for about one year. The site has helped me immensely.
