I am delighted to present my application materials to you for an Arts Learning Facilitator

position at Opportunity by Design! With a bachelor of fine arts degree in art education
and painting, PK-12 teacher certification, and multiple years of practical leadership and
teaching experience, I believe that I would be a wonderful addition to your team.
Learning should be fun! That is why I've worked for the past years building experience
to understand how to nurture student motivation and foster creativity. I have had the
opportunity to design and teach programs in a range of different communities. I
designed the art program and curriculum for students with severe and profound
disabilities at the Pathways Strategic Teacher Center / Trudeau Center. Additionally, I
work closely with the Young Artists program coordinator to develop interdisciplinary
syllabi and teach a variety of PK-12 art classes in design, art history, and drawing for
the RISD Young Artists Program. My experiences have allowed me to develop highly
relevant and effective methods to guide all types of learners, teachers, and parents.
I am an active planner in community projects. I have directed, painted, and completed
nine mural projects including locations at the URI Providence Campus, Trudeau Center,
and the Child Welfare Institute at RIC. With these projects Ive completed tasks
involving budget planning, fundraising, recruiting interns, project design, book keeping,
documenting progress, etc. Currently I am working with artists, teachers and community
members to coordinate mural programs for community centers in the Providence and
Malden areas. I am confident that my experiences have given me an advanced
perception of how to lead and organize programs that promote cultural integrity.
