to edit academic essays. They will show their learning by
engaging in oral discussion with a variety of peers.
(1C) Do Now: Describe something you feel you did well on
the essay we began last week.
TUESDAY
(1C) Learning Target: Students will improve their ability
to edit academic essays. They will show their learning by
generating an editing narrative.
(1C) Do Now: Based on our conversations yesterday,
describe three things you know you would like to change
about your essay.
In class, students will write one paragraph for each of
the following questions:
1. What can be added to your essay to improve it?
2. What needs to be removed from your essay?
3. What makes your essay original, or makes it
stand out?
4. What are you going to accomplish in this essay
that you have never accomplished before?

(1B)Closing Activity: As a whole class, we will discuss
what we learned today and how we will use these skills
in the future.

WEDNESDAY

what strategies work for succeeding on multiple choice
exams.

THURSDAY

vocabulary skills in preparation for the AP Exam. They

quiz.

(1B)Closing Activity: Using a show of fingers, students
will indicate how well they believe they did on the quiz.

Do Now: Please take out a sheet of paper, a writing


apparatus, and clear your desk of all other materials.

vocabulary list, which will be posted in class.
FRIDAY

in speaking and listening. They will show their learning
through written notes and Socratic dialogue.
