November 1 : All Saints Day

This is a day when giant kites are found

in the sky and cemeteries are filled. The
day before, people go to the graveyard
to restore, clean, and repaint their loved
ones graves. On November 1st there is
a celebration. Families bring their loved
ones favorite foods and drinks. There
are many flower decorations and
mariachi bands.

A typical urban home is square in
shape and constructed of
cinderblocks and cement. Roofs are
usually flat and may be corrugated
metal or shingled, depending on what
the family can afford. Floors are
generally tiled, carpeting is rare.

Dating
Urban young people began dating in groups
around age 15. In rural areas, people began
dating at a younger age, and young women are
often considered ready for marriage by their
mid-teens.
Young women and their families are careful to
maintain the girls reputation which can affect

couple is chaperoned by younger cousins or
siblings.
