I am currently a Humber College nursing student in my final year and entering my pre-grad
clinical placement. I am very interested in working in the field of mental health. I have worked
with persons dealing with mental illness in the capacity of a Court Officer for the Toronto Police
Service in the mental health court at the Old City Hall Courts in the past, and I am familiar with
the challenges and rewards of working within this environment. I currently have 6 years of
experience as a Nuclear Security Officer. I am currently a Nuclear Security Officer for Ontario
Power Generation at Pickering Nuclear Generating station and my experience
includes; supervising activities of assigned staff as a step up Flma, plan, organize and assign
tasks giving adequate instruction, work procedures and provide necessary monitoring. I prepare
reports and retain appropriate documentation for audit/reference purposes. I carry out good
housekeeping and emergency response practices. I am accountable for the health, safety and
wellbeing of myself and others, in accordance with technical/operating procedures and standards,
and includes the development of technical/ operating solutions to problems. I also have 3 years
experience as an on the job training trainer (O.J.T.) that involved supervising, planning, and
monitoring staff Other supervisory experiences include 5 years as a Court Officer trainer for the
Toronto Police Service managing new recruits.
My qualifications include CPR and First Aid certification level C - HCP/AED, and can
demonstrate a good working knowledge of the College of Nurses of Ontario standards of
practice. I am competent in working within a multidisciplinary health care team as I have
completed two semesters at Etobicoke General Hospital on the 9th floor Transitional
Rehabilitation unit as well as the 10th floor Ambulatory care/Medicine floor and I have
demonstrated I have a good understanding of my role and duties as a RPN.

Canadian Nuclear Safety and control Act and /or regulation.
