Throughout the school year, your child will be involved in conducting
classroom science projects and labs. Along with course material conveyed through lecture, PowerPoint, and textbook reading, students will be required to engage in hands on science related task throughout the semester. With this type of learning being new to many students, there are ground rules that must be present in the classroom. The following rules and guidelines must be reviewed, signed and returned by both the student and parent/guardian. Students will not be allowed to participate in any classwork until this document has been signed and returned. 1. All lab related activities are a privilege. Abuse of these privileges will result in removal from lab activities. 2. Students involved in classroom labs must closely follow directions given on that particular day. 3. All lab materials must remain in the classroom unless instructed otherwise. 4. Participation points are given for student consistent participation in group lab activities. If a student does not participate in a given activity that student will receive a zero for the day. 5. Students are at no time given permission to consume any lab materials. 6. When instructed to do so, students must wear safety equipment (eye glass goggles, apron, etc.). 7. All rule violations are evaluated and monitored by the teacher. Final say and punishment will be handed down by the teacher and/or the principle. I look forward to having your child in class this year!
