Open the Microsoft Excel software package from the Start-Up menu bar.

In Cell A1 type Name.

In Cell G1 type Possible Points.

In Cell I1 type Percentage.

By clicking in the various cells, type in the following names and the exam scores.

In Cell F2 enter a formula that adds all of the test scores.


(example: =sum(B2:E2))

This instructs the computer to add all the scores from row 2.

In Cell G2 type the number of the possible points for all FOUR tests (350).

In Cell H2 type this formula =average(B2:E2)

This instructs the computer to average all the scores from row 2.
Make sure to limit the decimal places to 2

Format the cell to be a Percentage.


Make sure that the percentage displays only ONE (1) decimal place.

In the lower right hand corner of Cell F2, click and drag down to F8 and release.
This instructs the computer to add the scores of rows 2 - 8 separately.

Do the same by clicking and dragging from Cell F2 to F8, then G2 to G8, and H2
to H8. This instructs the computer to complete the remaining cells.

Enter a formula in B9 to calculate the average for the seven test scores for Exam
1. Format the cell to show only 1 decimal place. Click and drag to copy the average
formula to only the test results columns C, D, and E in the spreadsheet.

Center (both horizontally and vertically) and bold the column headings by
selecting the cells in row 1 (the column headings) and clicking on the center and bold
buttons.

Shade rows 2, 4 6 and 8 with a white-25% fill.
