Appendix:
1. Pre-Wrap: is a cotton wrap with no adhesive, it is used to
protect the skin of the ankle.
2. Heel & Lace Pads: thin slices of foam with a dab of petroleum
jelly to prevent irritation from the taped ankle.
3. Talus: is the bone in the ankle wear the Tibia and Fibula connect.
4. Achilles tendon: The tendon that runs from the calf muscle to
the heel bone.
5. Anchor Strips: strips that are used to guide the placement of
the stir-up strips and the horse-shoe strips.
6. Stir-up strips: strips that are place from the inner side of the
leg to the outside of the leg. Used to prevent the ankle from
moving inverted and externally.
7. Horse-shoes: strips place form the back of the ankle (Achilles
tendon area) to the front of the ankle. Used to support the stirups
8. Figure 8: a stripped wrapped around the ankle to prevent the
ankle from being hyper flexed into plantar flexion.
9. Malleolus: a bone on each side of the ankle that sticks out, the
bottom of the tibia (medial) and the fibula (lateral).

Lateral: the outside of the midline of the body.

Medial: the closer segment to the midline of the body.

Anterior: the front part of the body.

Heel Lock: Strips that wrap around the heels to prevent
internal and external rotation.
14.
Calcaneus: heel bone.
15.
Clean up: The process in which you apply strips to make
sure all the other previous placed strip are secure and covered.
