This experiment was conducted by a group of six students of Universiti Teknologi
Malaysia (UTM) at Separation 1 Laboratory Faculty of Petroleum and Renewable Energy. The main aim of this experiment is to study the separation of component in gas mixture using liquid. The main instrument that being used is Packed Adsorption Column which is also known as Intalox saddle (0.7 mm). There are two objectives that become the guideline of the experiment. First, is to study the effect of manipulated air flow rate and water flow rate on flooding in absorber. Second, is to study the correlation and effect of water and air flow rates on pressure difference (pressure drop). Water and air are the two fluids that being used as the medium of separation. At the end of the experiment, all results are recorded and tabulated. In the discussion part of this report, the result of the experiment are being discussed and graph of log (pressure drop) versus log (air flow rates) and log (pressure drop) versus log (water flow rate) plotted to show the variation also the data distribution.
