whattheythinktheaboutthesymbolsandmaterialsusedonthem.
Theteacherwillexplaintheactivityandtalkaboutthepreviouslessonswherethey
haveusedhieroglyphs,signsandsymbols.
Theteacherwillexplaintheonlyrequirement:eachstudentspaddledollmustinclude
hieroglyphsandakindofpatternordesignandusebothsidesofthedoll.

designtheirpaddledoll.Iwillalsoputouttwodifferenttypesofthe
HieroglyphicAlphabet:oneismorecomplex,whiletheotherbreaksdownthe
hieroglyphsinsimplerforms.Ifsomestudentsneedhelpinusingthe3Dmaterials
,
the
teacherwillbetheretoaidthemwhetheritbeinusingthescissors,glueorwrapping
