COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to provide students with developmentally appropriate knowledge and
skills in fitness and wellness. A comprehensive approach of the dimensions and concepts of Total
Wellness with application towards personal, interpersonal, and community settings will be
addressed.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
1
To gain knowledge and understanding of the body functions towards health and
wellness management through lectures, assignments, and examination.

To apply health and wellness related issues in personal, interpersonal, and community
settings through assignments, and examination.

To develop a personal commitment towards leading a health and wellness lifestyle


through laboratory assessments, assignments, and participation in class activities.

Each exam is worth 15% of final grade. Exams will be objective multiple-choice
format and based on lecture materials, lab assignments, and textbook readings. You
will need Scan-tron 882 for all exams.

Tri-Fold Brochure . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Students will sign up for a specific health/wellness related topic. If multiple
students have the same topic they will select a sub-topic. Each individual will
research their topic and create a tri-fold informational brochure.
Brochures should be attractive in design, and provide adequate content for space
available, and list sources. A Hard copy of brochure is to be turned in on due date.
Random selection of brochure topics for presentation on due date will occur. Due
dates are listed on sign-up sheets.
To receive credit for assignment:
Hard Copy of Brochure: Attractive and Quality Content of Topic
2:00 Presentation of Brochure if called on Due Date.
