Final Concept
Background Info.
Impact:
1.
2.
3.
fewer resources will be needed to be allocated for their storage such as electricity and land.
Also, money will be made from the new cleaned barrels.
They can also use the collected anti-freeze for the future so that the company will not need to purchase as much in the
future, reducing waste.
Implementation:
1- build a chamber for the device near by the furnace to heat the salted water. By placing the device by the furnace, less energy will be
needed to heat the water as the environment will already be very warm.
2- setup the device in the chamber.
3- Transfer the barrels from the store to the chamber to clean them with the mechanism described earlier using the anti-anti freeze
machine.
4- To setup the machine:
mix any type of salt with water to make a 25 mole(salt)/kg(water) solution.
heat the solution to 115 degrees Celsius (239 F) and keep the temperature constant so that the water doesnt evaporate.
Once the salted water is hot, the machine is ready to do the work.
5- use the cooler to condense the evaporated anti-freeze if needed. The cooler wont be necessarily on all the time because the
atmospheric temperature will be sufficient to condense the anti-freeze.
6- keep the condensed anti-freeze in a clean container so it can be used again.
7- transfer the barrels back to the store.
8- Clean barrels can be reused or converted to a pure product.
Concept Gen.
The Evaporation of the Anti-Freeze met more
criteria. The absorbent would create more waste,
would require individual works, garner less product
back, and as a result less functional compared to
the Evaporation of Anti-Freeze.
The cleaned barrels could be smelted or sold as
crafted barrels will sell for as little as fifty- dollars.
