Utilized Iowa Core Standards, which focused on students construction of knowledge, elaborated
communication through student centered activities and conceptual understanding of material.
Planned and executed lessons that involved 21st century skills and cooperative learning structures
in Reading, Writing and Social Studies for sixth grade students.
Modified lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners that are above or below target. Made
necessary accommodations for students on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), Behavior
Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Reading Intervention Plans.

Created lessons to assist students in the Academic Assistance Program develop self-advocacy

brought two past English Majors to Dubuque to discuss careers with an English degree.
Dance Marathon ~ Loras College, August 2011-Present
Outreach Director, May 2012-May 2013, Coordinated mini dance marathons at surrounding
schools in the Dubuque area to provide assistance to families who are a part of the Childrens
Miracle Network.
Largest student-run organization on campus that provided financial and emotional assistance to
families at the University of Iowa Childrens Hospital through the Childrens Miracle Network.
SERVICE & NON-TEACHING EMPLOYMENT
ARK Advocates ~ Loras College, December 2013-Present
Facilitated activities for individuals with disabilities that included games from the ages of 3-12
during respite nights to allow individuals to interact with each other and have become a part of a
circle of support for families.
Catholic Church in Latin America ~ Loras College J-Term, January 2014
Facilitated interactive activities and donated school supplies to students in a highland community
outside of Lima, Peru while studying there for three weeks.
Lead 4 Loras Program ~ Loras College, February 2012-May 2013
Completed three tiers of leadership training and researched retention to implement a plan to assist
students who are thinking about transferring.
DAC (Developing Alternative Choices) Inc., (Home and Community Based Health Intern) ~ May 2013Present
Training includes mental health awareness, safety, and confidentiality and HIPPA.
Completing projects to assist individuals with disabilities such as setting goals and recording
