Curriculum Integration

This lesson plan is part of a Unit that will introduce similarities and differences. This lesson plan will begin
to help students understand similarities and differences, as well as the comparing part of this unit. Videos,
worksheets and practice will be performed throughout this lesson to achieve all the unit goals.

get them into the mindset of the concept to be learned)

DO NOW (on blackboard): What is your personal definition of the

term Comparing

One minute writing down your definition and one minute discussing

Video Lesson (8 minutes)

The video will be showing students playing an organized game of

basketball.

I will hand out a checklist for skills such as dribbling, passing,

shooting and defense.

Students will check off the number of successful and unsuccessful

attempts at each skill.

Paper and pen

Written (5 minutes)

Students will now reflect from what they have learned thus far.

Between the video and our earlier discussion, each student will now
write one paragraph

Paragraph will be an overall summary for each skill in basketball.

Paragraph will also use comparing as students will have to explain

and compare the similarities and differences between each skill, both
the successful and unsuccessful ones.

Closure discussion (5 minutes)

After students are finished writing, we will have a discussion

Students will be set up in a circle with chairs and each student will
