Met with principal
about the budget for
the ESL parent
Literacy program.
Principal gave me
the total amount of
the grant. I worked
on the allocations for
the program. I
started by asking the
payroll clerk to send
me the pay rate for
paras and for
teachers. I
calculated the
amount needed for
the 13 classes at
each hour rate; to
create our payroll
budget. I also
created the budget
for the materials
needed.
I also began working
on the curriculum for
the ESL classes.
Created google drive
with all the
information.

There will be an
English assessment
for the participants,
that will include:
listening, writing, and
reading skills. This
will help the
participants reflect
on their own
learning.
There will also be a
program evaluation,
to receive input
about changes or
concerns about the
program.

1. What did I learn from this


project?
I learned the process of
how to allocate funds
and the different things
to take into
consideration. In this
case I had to be aware of
individual pay for the
teachers, calculate the
amount of parents for
the materials and the
snacks. Calculate the
amount of children also
to prepare a curriculum
for them to follow.

benefit from this project?
Students are benefiting
because parents are
more willing to have
parent conferences with
the teachers and
participate in school
activities.

benefit from this project?
The school benefited
because there is more

(conversations,
nouns, pronouns
ect. )
December 2014 I
began my search for
the two teachers and
5 paraprofessionals
for the ESL program.
Met with the
principal to establish
the location of the
classes. ( library ,
cafeteria, children in
PE room)
Continued to work on
the google drive ESL
folder.
January 2015
Created a PowerPoint
with the ground rules
and expectations of
the ESL program for
the parents. Created
sign in sheets for
program.
