Dear Mr. Dolski,

It is with great appreciation and enthusiasm for your company that I write to you today. Attached, you will find my
rsum, a document that highlights my achievements, my passions, my successes. It is within this document that I hope you
discover that I am truly committed to helping to build a better tomorrow with GE Transportation and would relish the
opportunity to work for your company.
In itself, GE is an organization many other companies envy. Through its worldwide brand power, its continuous
innovation, its diversity in enterprise its no wonder why GE is consistently seen as one of the worlds most important
organizations. However, GE did not simply get there by simply being some large faceless corporation. It got there because of
its people. Its people who tirelessly innovate, who continually work to promote their careers and their company. As a result,
for GE to remain one of the worlds most influential economic players, it needs determined individuals with the stamina and
drive to complete each and every task to the utmost of their abilities. I have highlighted my worth through academic
achievement and through leadership in research.
It is clear that the most defining characteristic of a student is his academic performance. Indeed, it is upon this
metric that many decisions are based: should the individual be hired, is he intellectually prepared, does he have the skill set
needed? With now two semesters of 23 credits under my belt, I can effectively say that I have gone above and beyond to
prove my scholarly capability. As a second year student on track to graduate in three years, I was for instance inducted into
the Alpha Pi Mu Industrial Engineering Honor Society in 2014. While an accomplishment in itself, this honor society is
typically only open to juniors and seniors at the tops of their classes. I have as a result had a consistent record of academic
excellence. I have excelled in courses such as engineering thermodynamics that involve the overarching topics of this
internship: heat transfer, fluid mechanics, stress analysis, diesel engine engineering and so on.
All the knowledge in the world cannot diminish however the importance of personal experience. Already established
as a premier student, I was invited to apply for the Global Engineering Leadership Program (GELP). After going through a
vetting process, I was eventually chosen as one of six industrial engineering students to take part in a unique research project.
With the purpose of collecting data on patient care transitions and gaps between the United States and France, and thus
implementing cost effective interventions, I was and am involved in leading the development of our projects. With little prior
healthcare experience, I jumped at the opportunity and have savored every moment. This as a result highlights my
commitment to continually seek out new opportunities to fuel my knowledge and experience. When an opportunity, an
assignment, or a job passes by, I will never forgo the chance to work on it. I am eager to learn, and thus prove my worth.
I finally highlight relevant leadership experience that makes me an effective group leader. As a mass coordinator, I
have the responsibility of ensuring that mass services go on without a hitch. In a way, being a mass coordinator and being a
project coordinator on the floor of a plant are thus very much the same thing. As a mass coordinator, I work to ensure that all
the items needed in a mass are where they should be, allowing for a smooth and uninterrupted flow. Additionally, when
communion occurs, I direct people in a structured way to prevent a backlog and delay. The success or failure of a mass thus
rests on my shoulders. In a similar way, engineers at GE Transportation have to devise methods with which to improve the
flow of goods in a process called lean manufacturing. Thus, I have not only learned about lean manufacturing and efficiency
in class, I have lived and experienced them as well.
It is thus with great admiration for General Electric that I offer my rsum to you. This document is not only a
testament of my commitment to serve your company, but also to my skills that would greatly benefit the organization. I
would greatly appreciate an opportunity to show you and your company what I can bring to the table. I hope to put my
imagination at work for you. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.
Thank You,
Robert Andr Borochok
