Activity Plan
Activity title: My Face Plate
Curriculum area/Developmental Domain: Art Area/ Fine motor skills, language, social
Number of Children /Age and number of adults: 10 children/ 3-5 year olds/ 1 adult
Materials needed: paper plate, tongue compressor, markers, glue, scissors, pon pons, colored
paper and glitter
Location and setup of activity: art area on the table
Preparation: teacher will make sure that there is enough materials to go around for every child
Specific behavioral objective: children will make an own face by using paper plate and
materials that will boost their confidence.
Procedure: the children will make their own face using the materials that is in the art area. They
will be creative and use their. After the teacher explain the activity the children can use their
creativity and go for. They will cut out circles on the paper plate for eyes. The teacher will assist
the children in gluing the tongue compressor onto the plate. The children are allowed to use the
materials to make their faces unique and creative. They will then be put up to dry. They will
share with their peers during circle time.
Discussion: What makes you different? Birth marks, different shades of skin
Terminating statement: we are all different in our own way. And we learned that we can be
creative with our paper face. Everyone did a good job on creating their faces
Cleanup: all students will clean up their mess and put all materials away
Transition: free play
Evaluation: The children were very interested in creating their face plate, they were all different
and creative. The children shared their creation with one another. They learned that everyone is
different and their own way

Activity title: My very own alphabet book
Curriculum area/Developmental Domain: Writing area/ language, fine motor
skills

Materials needed: construction paper, markers, crayons, glue, scissors,
Location and setup of activity: Writing area on the table
Preparation: the teacher will fold ten construction paper into half like a book,
print out pictures that begins with each letter A to D. The rest of the letters will do
on a later date.
Specific behavioral objective: to have children create their very own alphabet
book
Procedure: The teacher will pass out the materials to every child. The letters A to
D will be on the first four pages. The children will have pictures to glue by the
letter. After they have glued the letter the children will then have to draw a picture
that begins with that letter (the teacher can assist with the activity)
Discussion: What does each letter stands for A-D?
Terminating statement: We have started on our alphabet books on today
Cleanup: The children will cleanup and put away materials
Transition: free play
Evaluation: The children were very interested in the activity

Procedure: teacher will handout name sheet to each child. They will trace their
name
Discussion: How many of you all can write your name? Know how to write your
name is very important?
Terminating statement: Today the children learned how to write their name.
Practicing handwriting helps encourage children writing skills and confidence
Cleanup: none
Transition: Story time
Evaluation: Practicing handwriting helps encourage children writing skills, fine
motor skills and confidence in children

Activity title: How many letters are in my name?

Materials needed: paper, pencil, graph sheet or large plain white paper
Location and setup of activity: Writing table
Preparation: children name will be printed before the activity begins. Teacher will
read book Andy thats My Name, by Tomie DePaola
Specific behavioral objective: children will count how many letters are in their
names. Then graph it. Introducing graphing
Procedure: After the book has been read to the children the teacher will have each
child name printed on each desk. Each child must count each letter in their name
(first and last). Then graph it.
Discussion: What is a graph?
Terminating statement: today we learned how to graph on paper and how to
count using the letters in our names. Everyone name is different, there are long and
short names. We got the chance to see who had the longest name in the classroom
Cleanup: none
Transition: free play
Evaluation: The children learned what is graphing and how it is used. They build
their language and cognitive skills

Materials needed: construction paper, buttons
Location and setup of activity: Art area/ the setup will be on the table
Preparation: Read book Corduroy
Specific behavioral objective: The children will come up with some great ideas
and all the pictures are unique and individual Children will be able to use their
creative thinking and imagination to using buttons
Procedure: Read the story of Corduroy and show the video. Talk about the
differences. Then the children are asked what else Corduroy might think is his
button. The children are given a button to glue onto their page and they are then
asked to draw something around it. It could be the wheel of a vehicle
(train,bus,car), it might be a balloon someone is holding, it could be a traffic light,
a flower..
Discussion: What some things that you see a button on thats around us? What else
Corduroy might think is his button?
Terminating statement: Today we learned about the story corduroy
Cleanup: children will put away the materials
Transition: free play
Evaluation: The children were very interested in the activity. They used their
creative minds and did awesome with using their imagination. They build their
language and thinking skills

design their own butterflies.
8. Procedure: after the teacher have read the poem to the children, the children
will go to the table. The teacher will pass out the precut butterflies. She
would explain to the children to be creative and decorate their butterfly any
way they would like.
9. Discussion: What is a cocoon? Where do butterflies come from? How many
of you all see butterflies flying around outside? There are many colors
10.Terminating statement: The children learned about butterflies. The
children were taught how it all begins as life of a butterfly. They learned new
words and were very excited about making their own butterflies to hang up
in the classroom
