BYOD Online Professional Development Evaluation Plan:

The evaluation plan for my BYOD based professional training will be fashioned after
the Kirkpatrick model. It will be executed using a variations of formative and
summative feedback.
A. Reactions Did they like it?
a. General survey given to the teachers participating in the online module
b. Questions relate to:
i. Ease of use
ii. Application of knowledge
iii. Recommendation to other teachers
c. Online survey using either Survey Monkey or Google Forms This will happen midway
through the module and similar questions will be added to an exit survey.

B. Learning Did they learn it?

a. Formative discussion boards and online communication relating to the tools being
instructed in the individual modules.

b. Summative lessons that were generated within each module as a final project which
would share out the tool each module is covering.

C. Transfer Will they use it?

a. Each of the completed lessons will yield a lesson plan that will be hosted on a school site
where other teachers will have access to all lessons created.

b. Tracking of access made by educators to the school lesson repository will share
information related to the use of module generated instruction. Data driven support for
the need/use of lessons that work within a BYOD environment.
c. An exit survey for the individual modules will include questions: (Survey Monkey or
Google Forms)
i. Is this tool helpful for instruction?

ii. Will you share results with your PLT?

iii. Can you help others instructionally, if they need it, with this
tool?
D. Results Will it matter?
a. Because the individual monitoring is with a single person there is one
person that will be instructing and assessing the modules a baseline
for achievement can be set. In other words the quality of the lessons
developed can be measured.
b. We will be able to track the number of modules each teacher
completes and track through earned CEUs of the educators.
E. Return on Investment
a. We will have a survey as to the time spent working on a particular
module to make sure that our estimations of time commitment per unit
is reasonable. This is part of the exit survey at the end of the course.
They will also be questioned as to whether or not they felt is worth
their time to develop the skills and lessons.
b. The number of hours put into the actual monitoring and assessments
related to the modules will be tracked by the instructor. The cost of
professional development online is hard to estimate, but we will have
set up a budget within our school training allocation for the year as a
comparison. Article: Online Professional Development Weighed as a
