STUDENT PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES (SPO):
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
1) (P) SWBAT Demonstrate the proper poses for all standing poses correctly when
asked by the teacher throughout the lesson.

2) (C) SWBAT Acknowledge why yoga is an important part of physical fitness


throughout the lesson when asked by the teacher.

3) (A) SWBAT Respect the class rules by respecting all the equipment throughout the
entire lesson. (S4.E5.4, MA CF 2.7)

TEACHER PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 1 The teacher will keep the students on task by reminding them of the class rules
when they lose focus
2 The teacher will use positive feedback and positive specific feedback when
assessing the students.
3. Teacher will give proper demonstrations using many different angles.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

Safety is very important when students are stretching. Students do not want to over
work the muscles.
Time management is very important so students can receive plenty of practice time.

yoga routine they have been

Introduction:
Informing: Mr. Geiger will go
over why yoga is important. It
increases flexibility and muscular
strength. Yoga is also known to
help relax the body, relieving
stress and panic.

in basic yoga stretches to
increase flexibly and muscular
strength.
Safety: Students will spread out
in their own personal space.
They will only stretch to where
they feel it. They do not want to
over stretch.

will participate in all stretches.
They will listen and not talk while

Lay torso on front thigh
To switch, switch foot in back .

For this activity students will
practice breathing and
meditation. They will lay down
on the mat and practice
breathing. (In through the nose,
out through the mouth). They
will close their eyes and think
about being at a place that
makes them happy.
CLOSURE:
Mr. Geiger will quickly review
the different poses and why yoga
is important for physical and
mental health. He will ask the
students questions to check for
understanding,
