Task:

A new cereal is being introduced at the beginning of next year. Youve been chosen to
come up with a name for the new cereal and design the containers for the project.

Guidelines:

You will work in groups of 3 or 4.

Decide on one non-traditional shape for a new cereal container.
Choose a material from which to construct the container.
Develop 2 sizes for the shape of your cereal box. Make a scale drawing of each size and
include a model of one of the sizes.
Create and illustrate a container design and name your cereal.
Prepare a television commercial to introduce the new cereal and box design.
Each member of the group must create one ADDITIONAL advertising item for your
container. This may include but is not limited to: a radio commercial, jingle, logo,
billboard, or flyer insert.
Prepare a presentation (with visuals) that includes the following:
o A group television commercial to introduce the cereal to the class.
o A discussion of why you chose this particular type of container.
o A discussion of the feasibility of your design in terms of storage and display.
o Formulas applied and mathematical steps for calculations of surface area and
volume.
